This service applies to both new and used vehicles, and we can also assist with lease buyouts. However, we typically do not work with very old or high-mileage vehicles, as those deals often fall outside the scope of what we can effectively support.

By booking the call, you acknowledge that you’ve reviewed this information and understand how our Car Buying Service operates. This helps ensure a smooth, efficient process—and sets the stage for the best possible outcome.

The Total Cost: $1,000-1,050*
Let our 16+ years of car industry experience work for you. This car buying service gives you direct access to expert coaches from The Homework Guy Team who negotiate on your behalf to secure the best possible deal—new or used, anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. WE DO ALL THE WORK, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO.
Every coach has been personally trained or vetted by Kevin or Liz and brings top-tier negotiation skills to the table. You’ll also work directly with Kevin and Liz themselves—unlike any other car-buying service or consumer advice show. First, you’ll speak with Liz, who will then connect you to Kevin, creating a powerhouse team that car dealers can’t outmaneuver.
Once you pay your initial invoice, we get started—usually within 24 hours (excluding weekends). The faster you're prepared, the faster we move, but typical turnaround is within 1–3 weeks. Communication is a top priority, and we’ll reassign your coach if it’s ever anything less than exceptional.

🔁 Have a Trade-In or Lease Return? No Problem.
If you’ve got a trade-in or a lease return, your Coach will negotiate that as a separate part of the deal. Because it adds extra work, there’s a $100 fee per vehicle, which goes directly to your assigned Coach (not to us). You’ll see this charge added to the final $200 invoice.
To get started, just text Liz your trade-in’s VIN, mileage, and trim level, and we’ll book it out to determine a strong trade value. If you’re not happy with the offer and decide to keep your vehicle, you won’t be charged—no pressure.

✅ Your Preparation & Qualifications for Service Approval
To be accepted into our Car Buying Service, we ask that you meet a few basic requirements that help us serve you efficiently and effectively:
💳 Financing or Cash Ready?
If you’ll need a loan to purchase your vehicle, you must have a credit score strong enough to qualify through your bank, credit union, dealer, or manufacturer financing. If you're a cash buyer—congratulations! That’s always welcome here.
🚗 Know What You Want
You’ll need to narrow your selection to a specific make and model. Having a backup option is okay, and your Coach can help finalize your choice. Just keep in mind:

We don’t chase unicorns or waste time on builds and options that don’t exist
🧪 Test Drive First
Before we assign a Coach (or soon afterward), you’ll need to test drive the vehicle you’re interested in. If you are doing your test driving AFTER we assign you a coach, make sure you make the arrangements with proper coach's assistance. We can’t represent you well on a car you’ve never driven—and you shouldn’t commit to one without feeling it out first.
📝 Intake Form
After your first invoice is paid ($700 or $750), we’ll send you a simple Intake Form to gather the full details of your desired vehicle. Please answer every question thoroughly—incomplete submissions slow down the process and aren’t acceptable.
🕒 Be Ready to Act
Deals can move fast, and so do we. If your Coach negotiates a great offer, you must be ready to place a deposit (typically $500) to secure the vehicle. You’ll pay the dealer directly—because we never collect credit card information ourselves.
⚠️ A Word About Time and Expectations
Our Coaches are in high demand, and time is our most valuable resource. If you’re indecisive, unresponsive, or chasing unrealistic deals, it will undermine your Coach’s leverage, hurt your savings opportunities, and delay progress—not just for you, but for others too.
Here’s what we ask:

Be decisive and prepared to act when options are presented

Communicate—if you need to pause for any reason, just text us or your Coach

Don’t “ghost” us or ignore messages; we can work fast, but only if you’re with us
If we determine that we’ve done our part and you're not ready to move forward after multiple attempts, we may conclude that our obligation to you has been met.
❌ We do not offer refunds to clients who have unrealistic expectations or continue to misuse our time.
Refunds:
🔁 Refund Policy & Process Expectations
If your Coach successfully finds and negotiates a car deal for you—but you choose not to move forward with it for any reason—we still compensate your Coach for the work performed. That means $400 of your initial invoice will go to the Coach, and you’ll receive a refund of the remaining $300 or $350, depending on the amount you initially paid.
Why? Because the Coach did the job you hired us to do—finding a deal that matches your preferences and negotiating it on your behalf.
However, if:

Your Coach rejects your Intake Form before any work is done, OR

You change your mind before the Coach begins service
...then you’ll receive a 100% refund of your initial invoice ($700 or $750).
☑️ Note: Intake calls that are completed with Kevin or Liz are non-refundable, since the agreed service has already been provided.
🚫 Stop Searching Once You Hire Us

Once you’re plugged in with a Coach, you should stop searching for vehicles and let your Coach take over. If you make contacts behind the scenes, you risk damaging the Coach’s ability to negotiate on your behalf—this can weaken your leverage and hurt the deal.

📑 OTD Offers & Dealer Visits
Before you ever step foot on a dealer lot, your Coach will send you a detailed breakdown of the final Out-the-Door (OTD) offer. You'll know exactly what you're agreeing to ahead of time—no surprises.
When you arrive, compare the paperwork against the offer we provided. If the dealer changes anything, you are encouraged to walk out. Dealers are advised in advance that our clients won’t tolerate last-minute games.
🧾 What is OTD Pricing?
We only negotiate OTD pricing—that’s the total cost you’ll pay, including all fees, taxes, and charges.
We don’t haggle over individual line items (like doc fees), even if we disagree with them. Instead, the Coach negotiates a large enough discount off the vehicle price to offset any unwanted charges.
For example, a dealer may still list a document fee or added charges—but the price of the car will be reduced to balance it out. The result? You still come out ahead.
💸 Typical dealers attempt to sneak in $3,000 or more in extras—we make sure that doesn’t happen to you.

It’s much cheaper than other competitive services, and you’ll pay for it with three payments.
- To get started now, purchase the $99 phone call with Kevin. If you are a repeat customer, you will NOT need to buy the call a second time. You can just text Kevin or Liz and say you’re ready for another vehicle, no phone call charge. By his method, repeat buyers save $100 on their next vehicle.
The call will be scheduled within 24-48 hours and takes just 10-15 minutes of your time. Kevin and Liz are the ONLY Show Hosts who will take time out of their day to talk to you. We hope you appreciate that. Nobody else offers this level of personalized service. We will interview you and determine if you are a good fit for this service.
If the conclusion is that this won’t work for you (which usually is due to a credit problem, or very unrealistic customer expectations) we may elect to refund your call money.
- After this conversation, if you are good to go, we will send you an invoice for $750 (or $700 to veterans). If you have a trade or lease return, you will be charged an additional $100 (at the very end) by your assigned coach on your final invoice.
*DISCOUNT: ONLY Veterans, and current military service members will be given a $50 discount on the initial invoice. Your initial invoice to start service will be $700 (not $750), making your total cost for our services: $1,000. When the initial invoice is paid, the next step is you’ll need to complete an intake form we email to you. Don’t worry, we will send it to you when we receive notice that your invoice was paid. When that is completed, our Coach goes right to work for you (usually by the next business day).
- When you indicate the zip code you are in, the coach starts with dealers closest to you. At the end, after our Coach has secured a car for you to buy, you’ll receive a final invoice of $200 after you take delivery of the vehicle. If you decided to trade in your vehicle or had us assist you with returning your lease during this process, this invoice will be increased by $100 per each traded or turned in vehicle.
100% of this final payment will go directly to your coach. This is your opportunity to tip your coach if you feel you got really great service! When they go above and beyond for you and for our team, help us make sure they know it!
